Seismologist Specialist 

Purpose of the Job: 
Carry out detailed reservoir seismic characterization and modeling studies and to recommend and drive opportunities to improve geophysical data quality, Partake in the delivery of fit-for-purpose field development plans as well as planning studies to maximize hydrocarbon recovery. To recommend and drive activities aimed at improving geophysical data quality. 
 
Experience and Qualifications: 

  • University degree in Geology/Geophysics

  • Technical professional Production Seismologist with min. 7 years experience.

  • Skills in Seismic to Well Tie, Horizon Picking & Event Identification, 3D Seismic Interpretation, Time to Depth Conversion, Map Generation, Attribute Extraction and Analysis, Amplitude Studies, Seismic Inversion Analysis are essential.

  • Strong knowledge of Seismic Interpretation applications including PETREL SI.

  • Strong Integration with other Petroleum Engineering Disciplines.

  • Well developed inter personal and presentation skills, good team player, enjoy working in small multidisciplinary and multicultural project teams.

  • Good leadership skills; experience working effectively in multidisciplinary teams and is a strong team player

  • Effective communicator, ability to coach/mentor younger staff and ability to think beyond discipline.

  • Studies and interprets seismic data. Reviews analyzes and interprets data from seismographs and geophysical instruments. Conducts research and issue maps or reports indicating areas of seismic or proposed construction or development.

  • Education

  • BS or MS degree in seismology, physical science or engineering.

Geologist

Responsibilities:   
 
Analyze exploration and development opportunities using appropriate data & technologies (including 2D & 3D seismic, production data, petrophysical data core data, etc.).  
Construct depositional system models, incorporating seismic, petrological, and petrophysical data to form fully integrated geologic analysis.  
Develop recommendations for exploration, appraisal, & development wells.  
Conduct both technical & commercial risk analysis on the basis of available information & recommend appropriate action.  
Work with landmen, geophysical, petrophysical, petrological advisors to coordinate with reservoir, drilling, & production engineers to integrate appropriate information into thorough economic analyses of exploration & development projects.  
Work with drilling departments to calculate paths for horizontal appraisal & development wells & to assess potential drilling hazards associated with these wells.  
 
Qualifications:   
Must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Geology or Geophysics & 10 yrs experience in exploration and/or development, with duties similar to those outlined above. 
Excellent computer skills and a lot of experience in data manipulation/migration - Geographix 

Geophysicist 
 

Key responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:  
 

  • Play and prospect generation through application of a Petroleum Systems approach

  • Undertaking the geophysical interpretation of 2D and 3D seismic data

  • Applying advanced 3D seismic interpretation techniques, including AVO and seismic inversion

  • Developing and recommending well locations and evaluation programs

  • Preparing recommendations and documentation in support of drilling and evaluation programs

  • Providing geophysical interpretation for hydrocarbon volumetric evaluations

  • Providing geophysical inputs into Overall Development Plans

  • Implementing project plans and schedules in a timely manner

Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:  

  • B.Sc./M.Sc. degree in the Geosciences

  • APPEGA ''Professional Geologist'' designation or eligibility for same

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience as a development and exploration geophysicist with at least 6 years working on international projects

  • A strong geological background and understanding of marine depositional systems, including deepwater

  • Sound knowledge of geology and geophysics, with a focus towards international exploration and offshore field developments, projects and data

  • A thorough understanding of seismic inversion and other specialist geophysical techniques would be an asset

  • 3D and 2D seismic interpretation skills are required

  • Working knowledge of seismic inversion and AVO techniques is preferred

  • Experience with Jason inversion software

  • Proven track record in prospect generation and mapping

  • Strong command of the English language, with good oral and written communication skills

  • Excellent organizational and planning and multi-tasking skills to set and exceed established goals, schedules, and deadlines, often under tight time lines and with shifting priorities

  • Proven ability to work in a team environment dealing with people from various disciplines to achieve goals, and to identify and resolve problems

Geotechnician

Analyzing soil, rock and water samples using special laboratory instruments. Collecting and preparing samples for testing, following specifications set by senior geologists. Performing laboratory tests and experiments to determine the chemical properties of subjects. Processing geological data and generating reports to be used for further study. Interpreting data obtained from experiments, surveys and laboratory tests. Assisting geologists in routine tasks such as logging sample collection and documentation. Maintaining laboratory equipment and making recommendations for repair or replacement. 
 

Education

Bachelor degree in geology or related field.

 

Lead geophysical Specialist 
 

Key Responsibilities

Evaluate the exploration prospectivity within this operator's licensed acreage in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia and provide timely input to corporate portfolio roll-up exercises. Reduce risk and uncertainty through the application of geophysical techniques. For the highest ranked exploration/appraisal opportunities, mature to drillable status and coordinate the preparation of Investment Proposals. Coordinate post-well audits to ensure learnings are captured.

Ensure prospect evaluations are of high quality through coordinating peer reviews and maintaining technical standards.

Manage the primary internal and external (partner, BERR) interfaces to gain support for my clients proposals.

Support data room evaluations to help optimize the portfolio of opportunities.

Mentor less experienced staff to help develop technical skills.

Coordinate this operators recruitment effort for geoscience disciplines.

Promote this operators name through participation at technical conferences.

Qualifications:

Educated to degree level - preferably with an MSc in Petroleum Geoscience.

Previously employed within the exploration or subsurface department of an operating company.

Previous experience is highly desirable.

Experience in identifying and maturing a wide range of exploration/appraisal/infill opportunities to drillable status.

Broad experience in using the latest geophysical characterization techniques.

Broad exposure to petrophysical and geophysical interpretation and characterization techniques.

Experience in coordinating multi-disciplinary projects and in dealing effectively with partners.

Good communicator with collaborative working style.

Excellent mentoring skills to help develop less experienced staff.

Potential Field Specialist 
 
 

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Process and interpret gravity and magnetic data, and integrate them with seismic data for imaging of the subsurface.  
 
Minimum Requirements: A Master's degree in Geophysics or related field, and 10 years experience in the processing and interpretation of potential field's data.
